BBS101 Old Testament Survey, 3 credit hours.
Course Description
This course is a survey of the entire Old Testament in its historical and cultural context in order to understand the general content of the Old Testament books (including the outstanding features and basic teachings), to understand the place of each book in God’s total, progressive revelation, and to understand how to apply practical principles for contemporary Christian living.
Course Goals:
In this course you will:
I. Understand the significance of personal and ecclesiastical application to the study of the Old Testament.
II. Understand the major historical and cultural trends.
III. Understand the various genres in the Old Testament.
Course Objectives:
Upon the completion of this course, you should be able to:
1. Summarize those issues related to Old Testament survey, as well as the genres, message, and theology of the Old Testament books
2. Compose an evaluative summary of various scholarly positions related to the Old Testament
3. Apply Old Testament themes and texts to your life and to the life of your church

The completion of the course reading is an important part of the course. Required eBook is included in this class and it will be available for download after purchasing eCourse. Note that it may also be necessary to read other portions of the Old Testament than assigned for portions of the assignments described above. The password to open the eBook is Genesis.
Assignments / Exams
Complete five (5) open book exams: Genesis-Exodus, Leviticus-Deuteronomy, Joshua-Ruth, Chronicles-Nehemiah and 1Samuel-Kings. Each exam will have an average of 50 questions and the student must get a minimum of 80% to pass. At the end of each exam, the student will receive a certificate of completion. To open each exam, you will need a password.
The passwords for the exams are as follow.
Exam 1= Genesis
Exam 2= Exodus
Exam 3= Leviticus
Exam 4= Numbers
Exam 5= Joshua

The cost of the eBook and eCourse is $49.99 and you will have 60 days to complete your assignments. Please keep in mind that the five (5) quizzes are open book questions and can be completed in 2-3 weeks. You can keep the eBook for your own private collection.
